Global Entry

This is the official app of US Customs and Border Protection for members of the Global Entry programme. It exists to replace a queue. Instead of walking to a fixed Global Entry portal on arrival and waiting your turn at the machine, you report your arrival from your phone and go straight to an officer. Membership is a strict requirement. The app is only for travellers with active Global Entry status, and it will not process anyone else, so it is not a route into the programme or an alternative to enrolment. The process is short. Choose your arrival airport from the list of supported locations, then submit a photo of yourself for verification by CBP. One detail decides whether it works: you must complete this while physically inside your arrival terminal, not on the aircraft and not before landing. Once submitted successfully, you receive a receipt, and that receipt must be shown to a Global Entry officer when you reach them. Have your travel documents ready in case they are requested. If the app fails for any reason, whether signal, a photo that will not verify, or an airport not on the supported list, nothing is lost. Walk to an existing Global Entry portal and complete the normal kiosk process instead.
