Download Messenger - SMS, Text & Chat APK

Two things distinguish this SMS app: how it sorts your inbox and how much of its appearance you can change. Sorting happens automatically as messages arrive. Rather than one list where a friend's message sits between a delivery notice and a discount code, texts are separated into categories, with verification codes given their own section. That last detail sounds minor until you consider how often you open your messages solely to read a six digit code while a website times out. Having them in one place turns a scramble into a glance. Customisation is unusually deep. Colours, backgrounds and appearance can be set per conversation, not just globally, which means a particular person's thread can be visually distinct. In practice this makes an inbox faster to read, because you recognise a conversation by its look before you read the name. Rich content is fully supported: emoji, stickers and GIFs alongside standard SMS and MMS, with group messaging for family and work threads. Privacy features cover locking conversations and controlling what appears in notification previews, so a message on a lock screen does not display its contents to anyone glancing at your phone on a table. It replaces your default messaging app, leaving existing messages exactly where they are.
