Obsidian is a powerful knowledge base that works on top of a local folder of plain-text Markdown files, now available on the go for Android. It is designed to be a second brain that stays with you forever, giving you a private, flexible place to capture ideas, organise notes and connect your thoughts. Because your notes are plain-text files you own, your knowledge is portable, durable and truly yours.

The app is built for thinkers and note-takers who want more than a basic memo app. Write and edit in Markdown, link notes together to build a web of connected ideas, and explore those connections visually with the graph view, which reveals how your thoughts relate. A customisable toolbar and pull-down quick actions keep your most-used tools within easy reach, so capturing and editing on a phone feels fast and natural rather than cramped.

Obsidian is highly adaptable. Community plugins let you extend it with new features to fit the way you work, themes let you tailor its look, and sidebar pinning and sharing to and from Obsidian help it slot into your wider workflow. You can share content into Obsidian to save it and share out when you need to, keeping your knowledge base connected to the rest of your digital life while staying centred on local, plain-text files.

For students, writers, researchers and anyone building a personal knowledge system, Obsidian offers a durable, flexible and private home for their notes. It brings Markdown writing, note linking, a graph view and deep customisation together on mobile, helping you capture ideas anywhere and grow a second brain that is genuinely yours, for life.
