Most attempts to fix social media use are all or nothing: block the app entirely and last three days, or keep it and lose another evening to short videos. Sociallite takes a narrower approach. It leaves the parts you actually need and removes the parts engineered to keep you scrolling. Gone are short form video feeds, algorithmic recommendations, suggested content, explore and discovery pages, live streams, shopping tabs, adverts and sponsored posts. What stays is direct messages and conversations, the profiles you deliberately visit, content friends send you, and your ability to post and share. In practice that means you can open the app to answer a message and close it again, because there is no infinite feed waiting after you finish. Screen time limits work alongside this. You set how long you are willing to spend, and the app enforces it rather than showing a notification you can dismiss. Technically it relies on Android's Accessibility Service, which it uses only to detect which app is in the foreground and apply the restrictions you configured. The developer states plainly that this service collects, stores and transmits no personal data. It suits people who have tried deleting apps and reinstalled them a week later, and who would rather change the shape of the experience than fight their own willpower.
