Amazon Alexa

Amazon Alexa is the official app of the Alexa voice assistant and the control center for Echo devices. It connects speakers, displays and other Alexa-enabled devices to Wi-Fi and your Amazon account, then configures them: voice profiles, language, alarms, sound and notifications.

The app brings the smart home together: compatible lights, plugs, locks, thermostats and cameras are added in one place, grouped by room and controlled by tap or voice even when you are away. Routines trigger chains of actions by time, phrase or event, for example turning off the lights and arming security with a single command. Shopping and to-do lists, reminders, calendar and news briefings live here as well.

Music, podcasts and audiobooks from linked services play on any Echo or speaker group, and from the phone you can talk to Alexa directly, call and message other Echo devices. The more you use the assistant, the better it adapts to your voice and habits. An Amazon account is required, and the feature set varies by country.
