About this app

Ayat is a Quran application created under the Electronic Mushaf project of King Saud University. The text is shown as scanned pages of a real printed Mushaf, and you can choose between the Madinah edition, a Tajweed edition with color-coded rules, and a Mushaf in the Warsh narration from Nafi.

Audio recitations by many well-known reciters are included, two of them in the Warsh narration. Any verse can be repeated as many times as you like with a pause in between, which helps memorization, and the verse being recited is highlighted on the page. For study there are six Arabic tafsirs, an English tafsir, a grammatical analysis of the Quran, text translations of the meanings into more than 20 languages and voice translations in English and Urdu that can play after each verse.

Navigation works by surah and verse, by juz or by page number, and the full text is searchable. The interface is available in Arabic and English. Internet access and free storage are needed to download pages, recitations and translations; playback pauses when a call comes in.
