Working offline is a stated principle: nothing is uploaded, nothing is synced and no account exists, so the app cannot be slow because of a network and cannot leak anything to a server. The vault locks private photos, videos, files and folders away from the main gallery, protected properly rather than merely hidden in a renamed directory. Slideshows play a folder with adjustable intervals, which is a small feature with a specific use: handing your phone to somebody to look through holiday photographs without them swiping into the rest of your library.
