Download Voice Recorder & Voice Memos APK

A voice recorder is one of those apps you install for one purpose and end up using for five. Meetings you will need to quote accurately, a lecture moving faster than your handwriting, a melody that arrived while you were cooking and will be gone in ten minutes, a phone conversation with a plumber describing what needs doing. Recording starts with one tap, and five preset modes cover the usual situations, with sample rate and bit rate adjustable if you want to trade file size against fidelity yourself. Sound processing is where the useful work happens. Noise suppression reduces the hum of a room, echo cancellation helps in hard-surfaced spaces where voices bounce, and automatic gain control raises quiet speakers and holds back loud ones so a recording of a meeting does not swing between inaudible and shouting. Real-time transcription converts speech to text as you record, which turns a forty-minute meeting into something you can search rather than replay. Internal recording captures the sound the phone itself is producing, useful for capturing audio from a call, a video or a stream. Recordings back up automatically to Google Drive, so they survive a lost phone, and a notification shortcut starts a recording without unlocking and hunting for the app.
