HelloTalk

HelloTalk is a language-learning app built around conversations with native speakers. You set your native language and the one you are studying, and the service suggests partners whose level, goals and interests match yours. Chats run over text, voice messages and video calls, and built-in translation, transliteration and correction tools keep the conversation going even for beginners. More than 260 languages are available, from English, Spanish, Japanese and Korean to French, Chinese and Arabic.

Beyond one-to-one chats there are Voicerooms, live group voice sessions where learners and native speakers discuss a topic, and HelloTalk Live streams in which hosts from different countries share lessons and stories about life abroad; viewers can join the stage and speak with the host. The Moments feed collects user posts about language, travel and culture.

The app suits anyone who wants to move from memorising vocabulary to real speaking practice, for exams, travel or relocation. An account and a constant internet connection are required. The app is intended for users aged 12 and over.
