Sound Decibel Meter

Sound Decibel Meter turns the microphone already in your phone into a noise measuring tool. Point it at whatever is bothering you and read the level in decibels, updated continuously, with a graph that plots how the noise rises and falls over time. That graph matters more than a single number: a neighbour's music or a passing lorry shows up as a clear spike, which is far more convincing than saying it was loud. People use it to check whether a workshop needs ear protection, to compare how noisy two flats are before signing a lease, to document a recurring disturbance, to settle an argument about television volume, or simply out of curiosity about how loud a coffee grinder really is. The display stays readable at a glance, showing current, average, minimum and maximum readings so you can leave it running and check the range afterwards. One honest limitation is worth knowing before you rely on it. Microphones in phones are tuned for the human voice, and the hardware itself caps how loud a sound it can register, so readings around ninety decibels and above may be understated. Automatic gain control, which some devices apply and cannot be switched off, can also skew results. Treat it as a good indicator rather than a certified instrument.
