Download Douyin APK

Douyin is the Chinese edition of the short-video platform built by ByteDance. Its layout is almost the same as the international sibling, but the material shown is adapted to the rules and themes of China. The home screen opens straight onto a feed of clips from a wide range of creators, and browsing it does not require registration.

Posting your own videos or reading private messages does require signing in through a short form. A built-in editor lets you cut and assemble clips without other tools, although a favourite editing program can add options. Livestreams allow real-time interaction, battles are decided by viewer votes, and virtual coins can be spent on gifts for hosts. Unlike the international version, shopping features are built in, so products seen in videos can be bought on the spot.

It suits people curious about the Chinese media scene and its trends, or anyone who wants to see how the local version of this kind of service works. An internet connection is needed to watch, and an account to post or send messages. Content is aimed at an audience in China.
