About this app
Send Files to TV, often shortened to SFTTV, links an Android television, a smartphone and a personal computer so they can swap files directly. It is meant for the everyday case of getting a film, a series episode or any other file onto the big screen without a USB stick or a cloud upload.
Devices that have the program installed discover each other on the home network on their own, so setup comes down to a few taps. Data travels straight across the local network, which is faster than Bluetooth, and nothing has to leave your home. Versions for Windows, macOS and Linux mean that machines running different systems can still exchange files. The folder where received files are stored can be checked and changed in the settings.
It works well for anyone who watches video on a television and wants an easy route from phone or computer to that screen. The program must be installed on the TV and on every device taking part. Internet access is not needed, only a shared local network.
