NumberBook — Spam Blocker is a caller-identification application built as a community of verified users. Its main job is to help recognise unwanted and spam calls, so that a phone distracts less with pointless contact and respects personal space.

Beyond spam protection it works as a directory. It points out interesting venues along your route and gathers contacts from social networks together with the ordinary phone book into one list. If that list is ever lost, it can be restored. The makers stress that they aim for quality in individual features instead of claiming to replace everything else.

It suits people who often receive calls from unknown numbers and want to know in advance whether to answer. An internet connection is needed, along with permissions for contacts and calls, so that numbers can be matched against the community database.
