Lesser AudioSwitch

Lesser AudioSwitch is a small utility that makes your phone send sound where you want it: to the headphones, the speaker, a USB device or a Bluetooth headset. The microphone can be switched separately, and on most devices the speaker can be muted completely.

The app helps when the phone does not detect plugged-in headphones or, on the contrary, still thinks they are connected after you unplug them. It can mute the speaker while headphones are in so that loud notifications do not play out loud, use a headset microphone while sound goes through the speaker, and keep audio on the phone while casting the screen.

Controls are available as home screen widgets, as tiles in the quick settings panel and as shortcuts in the notification shade. Auto-switch reacts to headphones being inserted or removed, and restore-on-boot brings back the chosen output every time the device starts. Advanced users can trigger a switch from outside through intent actions, for example from Tasker.

Important: system changes mean the app cannot operate on Android 11 or newer, where the volume panel already has its own output picker. The utility is meant for devices running Android 10 and below.
